Meet Our Animals:

Youka  has severe arthritis and mobility issues for which she gets 2 different medications, periodic chiropractic adjustments and daily stretching exercises.  She’s still quite spunky, curious and social.  She was born in early 1994 so is quite a senior 

Raven is a former stud horse never trained under the saddle.  His owner unsuccessfully tried to sell him and was going to put him down because he has a cut tendon and severe scarring in a hind leg from being entangled in a fence.  He cannot be ridden because his fetlock touches the ground when he walks.

Sparkles is a former therapy pony but when the business closed she became too expensive to maintain as a non-working horse.  She was born in the early 2000s and has Cushing's disease which means she needs daily medication and a specialized diet.  Cushing's also results in excessive hair growth which cannot shed properly so she needs frequent shaving and grooming.

HTP took care of Norman and Butter until they went to a good home together.  Norman’s mom was killed by a hunter so he was raised by a human family and Butter.  Although the family raised them with good intentions they required too much care and went through a few owners until they found a forever home.
